Yup, you guessed it—feathers!
There’s no other way to say it: I. Love. Feathers. They might possibly be my favorite thing in the world. If it has feathers on it, chances are, I want it. I first fell in love with feathers my junior year of high school. I was shopping for a junior prom dress when I saw THE dress: it was light pink and beaded with a feathery skirt—and I was in love.

It was too special to wear to my junior prom, so I waited and waited and finally bought it to wear for my senior prom. Yes, that’s right, I found my senior prom dress a whole year in advance. Crazy much?
Everyone thought I was nuts for buying a dress with feathers on it, but once they saw it, it was jaws on the floor. I had a funny feeling that feathers were going to be the “next big thing”, however, it took a little longer than I had anticipated. Now, finally, we’re seeing an influx of feathers on the runway and the red carpet:

Mary Kate Olsen got a lot of mixed reviews on this dress, but it makes me drool every time I see it.

Rose Brynn- The color is almost teetering on grandma territory, which is what, I think, makes it great.

The ever fabulous SJP rocking a feather capelet- she can do no wrong in my book.
Much to my pleasure, feathers have even started infiltrating the wide world of wedding dresses:

When I saw this one, I literally gasped. With a few alterations, it would almost literally BE my old prom dress:

I saw the above dress online before I found The One, and even went so far as to e-mail the company and get a quote, although they’re located in New Zealand or somewhere super far away like that. Of course, the price was waaaay out of my range, but there was no harm in trying.
So, how exactly am I incorporating those ostrich feathers that I was talking about? Well, you’ll just have to wait and see!
Are you incorporating any feathers into your wedding? Where and how?
