Mission: Get a Freakin’ Dress, Already.

(Yes, the “Mission:” title gets a little more desperate with each dress-related post. Thanks for sticking with me on this seemingly endless quest…)

I’ve made another attempt to research dresses after the latest Library fiasco. I plan to do some serious find-a-dress-no-matter-what shopping while I’m home for the holidays, so I’m prepping for this adventure. I’ve returned to my old strategy of hunting for nicer bridesmaid dresses, but departed the comfy confines of J.Crew Weddings and Parties and ventured into other designers that I can find in my parents’ city.

In this new research, I discovered one designer I really like: Anna Elyse. Her dresses are elegant, but simple, and the website includes an entire section on Bridal Alternatives.

I really really like the Jackie O series:

And the Grace:

And the Sophisticate:

I like that the dresses are organized by silhouettes, and come in a variety of necklines, colors, and fabrics. I love silk dupioni and silk shantung; both fabric options available with Anna Elyse. I also think I can personalize the dress with a flower belt fabric sash, or other detail to make the dress more me.

Luckily, a store near my parents’, Bella Bridesmaids (these are all over the country!) carries the line (along with a range of other bridal alternative style dresses), so I plan to try some of these styles on when I’m home over the holidays. Hopefully, I’ll have made a dress decision within a month!

Who else is in dress crunch time? Anyone have experiences with bridal alternative dresses, Bella Bridesmaids, or the Anna Elyse line?
