France and Italy ‘becoming popular wedding venues’

When picking a wedding venue, more and more couples are considering France and Italy, it has been claimed.

According to Kelly Chandler, director at the UK Alliance of Wedding Planners, these locations offer something different to the usual overseas beach settings.

She said that the two European countries have weather and history, plus "you can get stunning castles, stately type homes, all sorts of palaces and literally lovely country manor houses".

Ms Kelly noted that although these types of wedding venues do exist in the UK, they can often be a bit more expensive and "regimented".

As a result, places like France and Italy are becoming increasingly popular among those after a bespoke celebration, especially as they are also known for their "brilliant cuisine", the expert continued.

These comments come after several publications reported that there has been a decline in the number of people jetting off to Hawaii for their nuptials.
