When it comes to walking down the aisle, the wedding dress is likely to be the most important frock for any bride.
However, one author has suggested many women are starting to get more and more excited by the thought of their going-away outfit.
Writing for the Telegraph, Celia Walden explained this is the dress the bride puts on when she leaves to go on honeymoon with her new husband.
While wedding dresses can often be "rigid satin columns or great tulle puffs", the going-away frock is "less constrained" while still having romantic symbolism, she stated.
Designer Allegra Hicks told Ms Walden: "The fun of the going-away dress is that it can be as expressive and exotic as you like and in any colour, shape, or material."
Shelly Vella, fashion director at Cosmopolitan, recently suggested that because of the recession, this winter's fashion trends are likely to be simple but with an unusual twist.
